Alice Lovelace is an arts activist and organizer (www.alicelovelace.com). She uses her administrative skills and artistic talents to work for social and economic justice. Alice is a published author, performance, arts infusion specialist, and community arts consultant. Lovelace earned her MA in Conflict Resolution at Antioch University’s McGregor School. Her focus is on community art as a form of mediation and systems design. She is co-editor of “Art Changes” at In Motion Magazine (www.inmotionmagazine.com) an online journal dedicated to issues of democracy. In 1984, Alice was part of the incorporating board for The Arts Exchange (thearts-exchange.org), an inner city artists colony. Alice currently serves as Executive Director and Board President of the 33 year old artists run center for the arts and is overseeing its move to a new location. In 2007, Alice served as Logistics Organizer for the first United States Social Forum – five days of workshops, performances, plenaries and work sessions attend by over 15,000 organizers from across the country and international guest.
