David Whitnack is the Director of Operations of the Community Arts Center (CAC), a 2200 seat vaudeville era theatre situated in the scenic Susquehanna Valley in downtown Williamsport Pennsylvania. David became the CAC’s Director of Operations after serving in the position of Technical Director for ten years prior. Before his employment at the CAC, he served ten years as a Tour Manager for Solo Pianist George Winston, at which time he traveled around the globe advancing and conducting Winston’s very busy touring schedule. Whitnack has also freelanced as a Promoter Representative for independent promoters around the country and has served as a Director and Production Manager at a number of well recognized outdoor concert festivals. His industry knowledge spans from unloading trucks on to area stages and arenas, very early in his career, to most recently touring with and booking major performing artist. He is an industry professional literally built from the ground up, with a vast knowledge and understanding of all areas and aspects in the entertainment business.
As Director of Operations, Whitnack is responsible for contract negotiations, facility rentals, production, physical plant and the security of the CAC. In addition, he collaborates equally with the facility’s Managing Director on season programming, the organization’s fiscal year operating budget and the overall supervision of the CAC’s many full-time and part-time employees.
The Community Arts Center presents more than 25 shows a year in its performing arts season in addition to facilitating over 35 rentals and events by concert promoters around the country and local organizations throughout Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania.
