Rand Suffolk became the Nancy and Holcombe T. Green, Jr., Director of the High Museum of Art in November 2015. Since his arrival, he has championed a renewed commitment to community engagement, placing particular emphasis on collaboration, inclusivity, and access. To support these objectives, the Museum has reduced admission fees, programmatically strengthened its commitment to the demographics of its audience, and added strategically to the permanent collection.
He was the director of the Philbrook Museum of Art from 2007-2015 and director of The Hyde Collection from 1999-2007. He has curated over twenty-five exhibitions, and has served as a juror, panel member, or guest lecturer for a variety of art-related organizations and programs. He has also served on the boards of numerous community and statewide non-profit organizations. Suffolk earned a BA in English from Connecticut College, a MA in Higher Education Administration from Columbia University, and a MA in Art History from Bryn Mawr College.
