Curatorial Collaboration: Added Value for a Shared Vision

Tuesday, September 27 | 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
Bonaire 4

Presenters too often think about other presenters as possible competition — but what if you flipped the script, and looked to your presenter colleagues as collaborators in commissioning new work, supporting artistic development, or furthering the life of a particular work? Whether it’s across town, within one university, or another state, presenters are finding ways to work together. Drawing on examples from National Performance Network’s Creation Fund and from other collaborative processes, this panel will share the benefits, the pitfalls and the best practices of shared curatorial practice to achieve an artistic vision that no single presenter can achieve.

Faculty: William Bowling | Kathryn Garcia | Beth Boone | Andrea Assaf | Aaron Greenwald
