Pushing the Accessibility Envelope: Sensory & Autism Friendly Performances

Tuesday, September 27 | 9:00 – 10:15 a.m.
Curacao 3

With an increasing number of children born with developmental issues (CDC estimate is 1 in 6), the presenter who truly wants to reach their community has new opportunities to serve this audience and their families. An awareness of the special needs of these populations will help presenters offer a valuable and welcome community resource for these families who struggle to find activities they can do together. You’ll learn about the discrete differences between Sensory Friendly and Autism Friendly and gain a new understanding of the basic principles, practical advice, and information about training (for artists, technical directors, front-of-house staff, and others).
